1.Hooking-thread time adjustment of the swinging shuttle
The position relationship of needles and swinging shuttle affects hooking thread directly. The correct position relationship shall accord to three aspects as follows:
1. When the needle moves to the lowest position, the space between hooking thread tip and the needle, named thread hooking space, should be 6-7 mm (shown in Fig. 1). The thread hooking space of GB4-1 is achieved by adjusting the crank of the lower shaft fixing screw and changing the relative position between lower crank and swinging shuttle pad. To ensure the permanent space in long-term operation, a hole was drilled to assembly fixing pin, so customers needn’t adjust the space in using.

2.When the hooking tip of swinging shuttle moves to the center line of the needle, the distance of shuttle tip to upper edge of needle thread hole should be 2-2.5 mm. (shown in Fig. 2)

If the position of the needle is overmuch high, it can easily pull the thread ring away and the thread hooking can’t be achieved, thus causing skipping thread stitch. On the other wise, if the shuttle tip comes to hooking thread position before the thread ring is thrown out, the thread ring may be broken, thus cause broken thread.
The method of adjustment is to open thread-picking side cover, use a screwdriver to loosen the needle bar connecting shaft screw, move the needle bar to the correct position mentioned above and then tighten the connecting needle bar shaft screw. (shown in Fig. 3)

3．The distance between the shuttle tip surface and the needle

When the swing shuttle tip moves to the needle center, the distance between the shuttle tip surface and needle shall be 0.05-0.25mm( shown in Fig.4).
If the distance is too big, it is hard for the shuttle tip to accurately hook the thread ring, causing jumping thread. If it is too small, the shuttle tip may crash onto the needle and break needles.
Adjustment method: Open the needle plate, lay the machine head flat, and loosen the shuttle bed base fixing screw 1 and lower shaft block ring screw 2 by a screwdriver. Then adjust the shaft direction position of the shuttle bed base and the distance between the swing shuttle tip surface and the needle is made 0.05-0.25mm.
